To Replace a Wastegate Flapper, you have to unbolt the Wastegate from the intake and exhaust ports on the turbocharger system to make working on the unit easier. After that, remove the top of the Wastegate carefully. You need to remove it carefully because when the top of the Wastegate is removed, the spring inside the Wastegate will lose tension and may fly out of the Wastegate housing. Then, disassemble the Wastegate over a workbench so you do not run the risk of losing parts. Next, reassemble the Wastegate using the new flapper in place of the old.
You should rebuild the unit using only replacement parts offered by the manufacturer of your specific Wastegate.
